Ravi Viradia, MD

Beginning with his humble origins of being born and raised in West Virginia, Dr. Viradia began his pursuit of medicine and surgery at an early age. He comes from a family of physicians who have continued to provide medical care to the people of West Virginia for over 40 years. He did his undergraduate studies in Honors Biology with magna cum laude at West Virginia University and further did his medical school at Marshall University School of Medicine.

In his medical school training, he completed additional anatomy lab electives in his final year where he focused on the facial anatomy, breast, upper extremity, and hand. He also attended internships for plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins University/Maryland Shock Trauma and University of Texas Southwestern plastic surgery programs, both premiere plastic surgery programs of the world.

He then pursued his dream of becoming a surgeon by completing a rigorous 5-year general surgery residency, electing to give back to his community at West Virginia University Charleston Division in his hometown. Where he trained to provide his hometown community with surgical critical care, trauma, vascular, plastic surgery, and colorectal surgical services. He took this a step further and was involved with the national societies and leadership committees, patient care advocacy groups, and presented research in all fields of surgery nationally to improve patient care in West Virginia. He further found his calling for the vast field of hand and plastic surgery through general surgery. He would take additional call for hand surgery and plastic surgery during his training and would become involved with plastic surgery research for improving treatments in hand injuries of coal miners state-wide. Dr. Viradia also has his board certification by the American Board of Surgery.

He was able to further specialize into orthopedic hand surgery after his general surgery training, where he was able to hone his microsurgical skills and prepare himself to become a highly skilled plastic surgeon. He completed his 1-year dedicated hand and microsurgical training at the University of Connecticut and then completed additional microsurgical training at the Ivy League Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Orthopedic hospital.

After his hand surgery completion, Dr. Viradia then trained in a 3-year Plastic and Reconstructive surgery fellowship at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and completed training in specialized breast reconstruction at Vanderbilt University. He took part in performing over 2,000 plastic surgery procedures with a clear focus on aesthetics and injectables.

During his training he was elected as president and chair of the Tennessee Medical Association for the residents and fellow division, nationally as an editor for Plastic Surgery Resident magazine, elected as a board of governor member for the ASPS PlastyPAC and TMA PAC, and performed several research projects in plastic surgery which were presented at numerous national conferences.

All the while he also ran and co-founded two biotech companies, Axxon LLC and Digitrack LLC both of which have advanced the life sciences through AI Healthcare by bringing together physicians, healthcare lawyers and computer science tech companies to develop medical devices to acerate healthcare practices. He presented and pitched his companies and medical devices at several events, including Harvard University and American Society of Plastic Surgeons. This led to Dr. Viradia winning the Plastic Surgeon Innovator of the Year for his patented technology Digitrack and being in the top 3 pitches at the Harvard University Pitch Competition.

He continued his pursuit for expanding healthcare through expansion of the healthcare private sector by completing Harvard University Business School specialization in leadership and management with a focus on healthcare management.

Today Dr. Viradia continues to excel as a highly skilled cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon in his private practice in North Tampa-Wesley Chapel with a background in advanced surgical training, innovation and patient safety. He sits on the national boards for Patient Safety and Legislative Advocacy and is a peer reviewer for Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Journal.
